Silvertips Start Road Swing With Midweek Doubleheader in Central Alberta

THE SILVERTIPS MAKE THEIR BIANNUAL TRIP TO RED DEER AND EDMONTON IN A TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY BACK-TO-BACK

While football fans in the PNW celebrated their team claiming the crown of “World Champions” - the Everett Silvertips players, coaches, and hockey staff travelled 730 miles on Sunday on their way to the middle of Alberta. Everett makes the trek to take on the Central Division teams every other year, and this one marks the return to the home province for eight Silvertips (Shantz, DuPont, Schaefer, Jamieson, Kaplan, Dufour, Vlooswyk, and Pisani).

The Silvertips have won nine of their last ten games; but have a daunting test in front of them with five games in seven days in the great province of Alberta before coming home next weekend. It’s an expedited road trip that will require everyone on deck. Miller and LeGall will split starts evenly, all the healthy scratches will rotate in, and Everett’s fatigue will show. But these first two games the Silvertips shouldn’t face a lot of fatigue.

Unfortunately Clarke Schaefer is still listed as indefinite on the injury report after being checked awkwardly against the boards crunching his shoulder. Shea Busch is still out - with hopes that he will return by the Postseason. Jesse Heslop and Brek Liske have missed games this past weekend due to illness - hopefully they are full go’s tonight.
